    The Client a healthcare authority in middle-east wanted to setup a collaboration platform that could lead to an accessible, effective and integrated healthcare system that could aid the organization to protect public health and improve the quality of life.

    Some of the basic requirements comprised of

    A Publishing Portal that could allow easy set up of multiple sub sites with CMS and configuration at dedicated site level.
    A portal that could connect with external eservice providers and allow the employees easy access to facilities such as License renewal, online bill payments etc.

    When the client approached Cygnet Infotech our Project management team proposed SharePoint as the collaboration tool for setting up the portal. The challenge was to upgrade the facilities without any critical downtime of the existing system. When the project was awarded to us, our technicians first worked on Database migration from Oracle to SQL server without any downtime.

    Server farms were setup to optimize the server usage to achieve better performance and multiple servers were clustered to represent a single entity. The solution allows request sharing among the servers in the cluster according to the workloads and availability thus providing a more scalable and flexible alternative to server upgrades.
    In addition setting up a SharePoint Collaboration portal provides a single platform where employees can access the services of eservice providers (License renewal, online bill payments etc.)
    The SharePoint portal automatically creates sub sites with CMS whenever an employee registers on the website. The CMS allows the employees to maintain their profile information and view alerts and notifications for new jobs posted on hospitals and other health facilities allowing the employees to coordinate among themselves.
    The main website stores all health facility information and integrates with Google Maps making information more readily available.
    The client can now boast of a single collaboration platform that works in complete accordance with existing company websites providing a single platform for information sharing and collaboration.
    This multilingual site (English and Arabic) offers Content management section where the users can publish articles, upload videos, post jobs etc. The site uses Custom page layouts thus allowing the users to alter the look and feel according to their preferences.
    The site also offers enterprise search facility that allows the visitors to search for recent events, health tips, videos and other content on the site. The users are also provided the flexibility to setup customized search alerts.
    In addition to offering content management and collaboration facility the site offers a ecommerce store where the users can send gifts to the patients through a secure payment gateway. The visitors can browse through product catalogue and purchase the gift item at a single click.
